Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains the nature, scope and purpose of processing personal data on this website.
§ 1 Data controller
The controller responsible for data processing under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Hotel Jean Paul GmbH, Ludwigstr. 13, DE-95126 Schwarzenbach (Saale), email: info@hoteljeanpaul.de. Full contact details are also available on the Imprint page.
§ 2 Hosting and server log files
When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically collects technical data transmitted by your browser (server log files): IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, browser and operating system used, and the referring page. This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and ensure its stable operation, and is deleted automatically after a short period. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, stable operation of the website).
§ 3 Contacting us
If you contact us by email, phone or contact form, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, message content) solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
§ 4 Room reservations via the booking system
For online reservations we use the Viato CRS booking system, an external provider acting as our processor. When you submit a booking request through the embedded booking form, the data you enter (including name, contact details, arrival and departure dates, and payment details) is transmitted to Viato CRS and processed to fulfil your reservation. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures). A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with this provider.
§ 5 Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses cookies where necessary for the technical operation and display of the site and the embedded booking system. Cookies that are not strictly necessary are set only with your consent. You can restrict or prevent the storage of cookies at any time via your browser settings; doing so may affect the functionality of the website.
§ 6 Retention period
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations (e.g. under commercial or tax law). Data is deleted or restricted once these periods expire.
§ 7 Your rights
You have the right to request access to, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability and to object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
§ 8 Google Maps
Our contact page embeds a Google Maps route map (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). This map is loaded automatically when the contact page is opened, which establishes a connection to Google's servers; your IP address, among other data, may be transmitted to Google as a result. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a clear, easily accessible route description, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Further information on how Google handles user data can be found in Google's own privacy policy.
