Terms & Conditions

General Terms and Conditions

These General Terms and Conditions (AGB) govern the accommodation contract between you and Hotel Jean Paul GmbH.

§ 1 Scope

These terms apply to contracts for the rental of hotel rooms for accommodation, and to all further services and deliveries provided to the guest by the hotel in that context. Subletting or re-letting the rooms provided, or using them for purposes other than accommodation, requires the hotel's prior written consent.

§ 2 Formation of the contract

The accommodation contract is formed when the hotel accepts the guest's booking request. For bookings made through the hotel's online booking system, the contract becomes effective upon receipt of the booking confirmation.

§ 3 Services, prices, payment

The hotel is obliged to hold the room booked by the guest and to provide the agreed services. The guest is obliged to pay the hotel's applicable prices for the use of the room and for any further services used. Accepted payment methods: EC-card, Maestro, MasterCard, Visa, V Pay, Visa Electron and American Express.

§ 4 Cancellation by the guest

Cancellations up to 18:00 on the day of arrival are free of charge. For later cancellations or no-shows, one night will be charged unless otherwise agreed. Reservations are valid until 21:00 on the day of arrival; after that, the room may be re-let without prior notice.

§ 5 Cancellation by the hotel

The hotel is entitled to withdraw from the contract if an agreed deposit is not paid even after a reasonable grace period, or if there are significant grounds making performance of the contract unreasonable for the hotel.

§ 6 Arrival and departure, pets, parking

Check-in runs from 17:00 to 22:00, check-out from 07:00 to 11:00; an earlier or later check-in is available on request. A check-out between 12:00 and 18:00 incurs a surcharge of 50% of the room rate, and 100% after 18:00. Pets are not permitted in either the hotel or the restaurant. On-site parking is available.

§ 7 Liability of the hotel

The hotel is liable for damages arising from injury to life, body or health, and for other damages arising from an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by the hotel. The hotel is liable for guests' belongings in accordance with statutory provisions.

§ 8 Liability of the guest

The guest is liable for any damage to the hotel building or hotel property culpably caused by the guest, their companions, or other persons acting on their behalf.

§ 9 Final provisions

Amendments or additions to the contract, the acceptance of the booking request, or these terms should be made in writing. German law applies. Where the guest is a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contractual relationship is Hof. This jurisdiction clause does not apply to consumers; for consumers, the place of jurisdiction follows the applicable statutory provisions.

These terms are based on standard practice for accommodation contracts in Germany and should be reviewed by legal counsel before taking effect. This English version is provided for guests' convenience; in the event of any discrepancy, the German version of these terms shall prevail.
